Old Kentucky Christmas

We did our usual stop at the First Church of Christ for their old Kentucky Christmas. How fun it is to make homemade candles and write with feather quills. It was pretty chilly this year.
Thank you First church for providing such a great free gift to our community.

California Oranges!!

We don't live where there is an abundance of fresh citrus fruit. I remember when we did. It really is a blessing to be able to have fresh grown food at your local grocer. When these wonderful orange fruits arrived for us. I had to grab a bag. They were so delicious and sweet. My, how funny it is to have pleasure in such simple things as oranges:)

Pottery Decorating with GS

We had a nice outing to a paint your own pottery place with our Girl Scouts. Lola made a couple of Christmas presents of Christmas tree ornaments. They turned out very cute.

Krohn's Christmas Show

There is such beauty in the natural display decorations made to bring holiday cheer to the community. The huge tree in the entrance  is so lovely. We just stand around looking and looking at its handmade ornaments.

Breakfast in Bethlehem with a dear angel

What a great way to let the children experience the manger first hand by having photos there. Lola always picks to dress up like an angel.

Cincinnati Zoo

Usually we go to the light show way later in the night thinking that the lights would show up better in the dark of night. This year we happened to be going by early and thought lets just go now when it opens. That turned out to be the best idea. The lights did show up great and the pictures turned out much better than from years before. Also, the crowds weren't there yet so it was much nicer to go through with fewer people. What a beautiful way to spend time together enjoying a winter night.
