Day 4 and the first Doctors visit

Today Lola had her first Doctors visit. The Doctor said that she was fine and was doing very well. Lola has started to gain back some of the weight she had lost over the first couple of days. Lola has also gotten to meet her older brothers. Adam and Eric both were excited about little Lola and look forward to spending time with her as she grows. Adam is convinced that with Lolas large hand and feet she can be a world class swimmer (with his help of course) and Eric is convinced he can use Lola to help him pick up Chicks :)

Day 1

So today Lola is 1 day old and what a first day she has had. She spent most of the first day sleeping and pooping! She has both of those figured out. She is still trying to figure out the eating thing, but her and mom are working on it. She has been trying to eat every 2 hours, but by the time we get her to eat anything the next 2 hours are here! We might get to come home today, the doctor said we could but the nurses are wanting us to stay another day. Thats it for now, thanks for all your support.

Hide and Seek

Well, after 4 hours of waiting the contractions subsided and little Lola decided not to show up. Hopefully it will not be to much longer.

We think it is time!

So we tried all the tricks that everybody could tell us to get Candace into labor but nothing seem to speed up the process. Tonight we decided to try Mexican food, plus we drove to a restaurant 50 miles away from the house, I was sure that this would work. It appears that Mexican food and being a really long way away from the hospital is the secret to inducing labor. Currently at 8:30pm we are at 8 minutes apart on contractions. We are waiting for the magical 5 minute mark then we will head to the hospital. Hopefully this is not a false alarm and the next post you will get to meet the baby.

2 weeks left

At two weeks left Candace is weighing in at 155 with a 44 inch belly. She has been trying to keep busy while waiting for Lola. Some of the things she has been up to are knitting, watching old movies, doing yoga, working in the yard and a little shopping. One day she even went to the zoo.

An afternoon at the lake

We spent Wednesday afternoon playing with our new jet ski. Virgil grilled burgers and dogs. The boys say its hard to keep it at the 40 mile an hour limit. It sure is a fun way to spend an afternoon as a family.

Adam's Graduation

Adam graduated high school May 27th. What a proud Dad! Now just think we will get to do this next year and in 18 years.

Prom

The boys on their big night out.
