Happy New Years!

Cheers! Lola wanted to be a part of the party. If you notice the clock says 10:30- well, she was wide awake the whole time. She stayed up until Midnight, none of us could believe it. We played Seinfeld Trivia and watched the New York City count down. Welcome 2010!

Tasty Salty Pig Parts

On New Years Eve we took the boys downtown to try some Tasty Salty Pig Parts. They were delicious. It was a nice day to be out. And as we were leaving downtown there were people lined up outside this bar to get in for later that night. Crazy.

Aquarium Day

Since the weather won't seem to give us a Sunny Day we headed down to one of Lola's favorite places, the Monterrey Bay Aquarium. Lola made sure her brothers didn't miss a fish. They even had to pet some sea stars and sea cucumbers. She's practically capable of being a tour guide herself. Then we went for a sugar fix at the Ghirardelli Ice Cream Shop. It was sweet. mmmmm

The Prewitt's went to play Bocce Ball

Finding an indoor activity since it's been raining was a must. We went to play bocce ball at this place a few miles away. What's Bocce ball you might be wondering...? Well it's like bowling sort of and it's very distracting for a 3 year old to watch, because she wants to take the shiny little ball and play with it herself. It was pretty fun and we had lunch there.

Explore with Me!

All the fun places we usually go are so fun to share with the Bubbas. Lola was so excited to take them to the kids museum. The boys happily played along. The rode the old fashioned stage coach. Let her make them pizza at the kids cafe and Eric helped her make a dragon cat puppet in the art center. Afterwards we walked downtown to eat and came across a carnival that had rides from Michael Jackson's Neverland.

The age of naked barbies has arrived

Lola has just realized that she can take the clothes off her princesses and barbies. She gives them baths and trades their clothes, then of course comes to momma to help redress them.

Homemade Dolly and Blanket

Making something homemade for our little doll has been fun this year. I knitted on this blanket once a week for an hour while she was at dance. I liked having her ask "is that for me?" I 'd always say yeah, but it's for Christmas. Modeled after Lola this doll was my first attempt to make a waldorf style dolly. Very fun and sweet, and now I'm ready to make many more.

Me and my Bubbas

We think Lola was slightly more excited about her brothers coming to visit than Santa bringing her Presents. She woke up the morning after Christmas and asked are the bubbas here! So we had to show her the flight tracker to show her where their plane was flying from. She dressed herself and even put her shoes on, she was sooo excited.

Christmas Morning

Merry Merry Christmas! How wonderful it is to have a little one to see the awe of Christmas morning. She loved her new puzzles that Uncle Brian and GiGi made. She was sooo excited about her new 'sewing' machine that Grammy sent. And she wouldn't take off her new tights and shirt that Granny and Papaw sent from Kentucky that had Princess Tiana on them. Also you can see her new tent that Santa brought with some princess games.

Zoo lights

On a chilly night we ventured over to Oakland to see the zoo lights. Sadly, It was more like a donation to feed the animals rather than to experience the amazing lights.... We all enjoyed the night time train ride though.

Finally some fresh air!

It's been a rainy week or so and we finally had a chance to run around outside.

Getting ready for Christmas

Every morning and night we talk about how Christmas is coming. In the morning we eat our chocolate and at night we add a wooden figure to our Advent calendar. She is so excited this year. If we forget to open the chocolate in the morning she'll remind us at lunch. What an adventure.

Dancing Girls Tea Party

Since we didn't have a dance class because of the Christmas break, Lola and Momma invited the girls over for some cookies and tea. fun, fun, fun, fun. All the girls wore a princess dress. The gals all made a sugar cookie and a bracelet and played Christmas Bingo. Mostly they just liked running around playing with each other. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon.

Our "pet" Pip

Lately we have been throwing a handful of rice crispies out the back door to watch the birds eat. Well, one day there was this squirrel that was poking around looking for what we assumed were some nuts... So we threw a few pistachios out there and the next day they were gone. So then the next day we saw this cute little critter out there again, practically knocking on the back door. We tossed a handful of some almond slivers that we were putting in our porridge. The little guy just sat there and ate them with us watching through the door. We have named it Pip after the squirrel from Enchanted.

making some pizza

Sporting a homemade apron from Great Granny Fothergill, Lola helped make some homemade pizza. She is always eager to eat the food she cooks. We let her make one that was just her size and she gobbled her's all gone.
This is her "look" when she wants to make ya laugh by the way.

Ice art and Corn dolls

Ice art is sooo coool! The children's museum had ice art for the kids in the little wonder room. I've read about projects to do so the kids can experience hot and cold, but I've not really looked into Ice art. This project was using droppers to drop color on the ice and watch it melt and combine with other colors to make holes on this big chunk of ice, also they had glitter they could sprinkle on it. Lola loved it. Then mommy made a corn doll while Lola and daddy played pizza kitchen. They also had the garden area open and Lola had fun 'growing' flowers. Painting her face like an alligator was fun too.

"Holiday" part at school

At Lola's school they did a book exchange at their "Holiday" party. They made snowmen bread for their snacks. She liked the book she received, one about the Fox and Hound. Momma thought we had it to watch, so when we didn't we made a trip over to the old Walmart to pick it up. Luckily, it's not in Disney's VAULT right now.

Disney Store Treat

Very rarely do stores give something away for free, so it was a real treat getting to go make a princess mask one night. Daddy helped the Doll make one while momma grabbed a few things for her to have for Christmas. Then they read the new Princess and the Frog book. She's pretty excited about the new movie.

Decorating her tree

Carefully the Doll decorated her tree. She's been very fond of her tree in past years but this year she is pretty proud of how she decorated it. She even picked up a pair of glass slippers to show for her year of hard work in ballet.

Takin a Stroll

Crunching the fall leaves under her boots is nice. She enjoys taking her stuffed toys out for some fresh air in the afternoons. She also enjoys painting her face like different animals. So if you noticed the blue around her eyes... I think she was doing a raccoon or a beluga whale..

Wharf with a friend.

One of our friends from Denver was in town for Thanksgiving so we met her and hung out on the pier for the afternoon. Lola loved getting to ride on the carousel and taking home a teddy bear bread. But she was surprised to see Santa sitting in the Boudin Bread factory. She had a turn to see him and asked for a Princess game for Christmas. Santa asked her if she brushes her teeth and goes to bed when she's suppose to, and if she listens to her mom and dad. She said yeah and that she was a good girl.
