Ferry to Sausalito

Ferry Ride! The Doll was very excited to ride on a big Boat! We all were really hoping to see a shark but only sea lions.... Very stereotypical foggy day at bay. When we were in Sausalito we went to a book store and picked up a couple books and a post card for Grandma Carter. Then had tea and cake at a little cafe. Very Fun
Day.

San Francisco Zoo

What happened to our hot hot summer..... Just kidding it's usually pretty chilly downtown so we bundled up to go to the zoo. Lola looks pretty good as a peacock. They had a nature trail in the children's zoo area that had a lot of animals to pet. We had a picnic at the polar bear exhibit. And of course checked out a monkey's booty. :)

Summer Treat

Scorching hot sun and water = a good time at the park. Grammy and Aunt Nichie took Lola to the park for some craziness and an ice cream cone from the ice cream truck! Classic Summer memory!

Musical Princess Party

For weeks Lola has been talking about her princess party... who was coming(about a dozen kids), what kind of cake she wanted, what songs to sing.... She kept checking on mom's progress when she was making the cake. (Sneaking bites of Fondant) She was so excited when her friends started showing up. She lovveed singing with Teacher Julie, who is her music teacher during the week. After we had cake and ice cream we let the kids swim and everyone had great time. Then later she wanted to be two again so that she could have another party. We told her she had to be three but we wished she would be little forever too.

Happy Birthday to YOU

Turning 3
What a joy to be three
So many things I like to be!
A princess a cat and a fish.
I feed myself from a dish.
Read to me mommy, please!
Look at the camera say Cheese.
Daddy's home let's go swimming.
Push me again higher on the swing.
Going to school is the next adventure
What will I learn in this next new year.

Can I brush you!

Aunt Nichie came for a visit over the Doll's birthday. Lola was glad to have her to play with while mommy was working on birthday stuff.

Academy of Sciences

Nothing like a giant aquarium to pause a two year old in her tracks. For some reason the fish really enjoyed looking at Lola's dress. A couple kept following her back and forth. Lola was most interested in the exhibit that showed the contents of a sharks stomach. Some of the crazy stuff a shark ate were a shoe, a glass bottle and couple of barbie dolls.

Water feature park

Where were these water feature parks when mommy and daddy were little? Lola loves going to all the different water feature parks. Nice to see some our taxes being used for something wonderful.

Cincinnati Zoo

For our last day of vacation Adam drove us up to Cincinnati to check out the zoo. We were very impressed with the manatee exhibit. Lola loved petting all the reptiles-a boa, a bearded lizard and couple tortoises.

UK

University of Kentucky
Lola enjoyed running around the library and checking out where Brother Adam goes to school. She climbed up into one of the chairs and loved the hideaway desk. She really enjoyed when he took her to starbucks for a chocolate milk and a cookie. There were a lot of nice flowers that she only picked a few between posing for some pictures. Now when we tell her Bubba's at school she'll know what we mean.

sleeping over at the farm :)

Uncle Brian and Aunt GiGi were so kind to let us stay a couple of nights with them. Lola loved dancing on the airvents, making the dogs 'nervous' and hunting for cats. She really loved just running in the field.

Great Granny's GREAT GREAT Garden

Potato Bugs were a new insect for us to learn about. Lola was eager to point them out to granny but not so eager to actually pick them, especially after she saw one spit up orange goop on Momma. Granny has a ton of vegetables growing in the garden which she plants every year, Did I mention that she turned 90 this year?! When we planned to go to Kentucky this was going to be one of the highlights- playing in the garden. Thanks for a fun afternoon.

Fishing with Uncle Brian & Aunt GiGi

Can I throw it back? Lola liked throwing back all the fish she caught. She liked the way they were slimy and she even learned to stick her finger in it's mouth.

Park before bed

Since the doll was still on west coast time it was always a relief to take her to the park (or target if it was raining) to run around before bedtime. One night we fed some cute baby ducks.

Hiking with Bubba Adam

With a rainy day ahead we weren't sure how much hiking we would get done. It rained all the way to the gorge ( a rock climbing place). Then stopped once we parked at the top... So we hiked down and back to chimney rock. Then Lola wanted to keep going so we went down one called the princess arch trail. There's the picture of the two of them under it. Hiking around for two miles with a two year old was wonderful. She was so into picking leaves and smelling the flowers and checking out the crazy mushrooms. So speaking of mushrooms, once we headed back to the jeep, it started raining again. It was nice that God gave us a short window of rainbreak to hike around. What a beautiful place. Afterwards we went to miguels pizza for a very strangely topped pizza.

Granny's POOL!

One really fun thing about going to Granny's house in the summer is the pool! She was excited to show Granny and Papaw the fish skills she has in the water.

swimmin in the lake

We had a great day at the lake with Uncle Brian And Aunt GiGi. The water baby of course never wanted to get out of the lake. She liked driving the boat of course too.

Pick your own strawberries

Whether they taste as good as store bought is never a question. It's all about the funnnn! Lola loved hunting for and picking her own berries. She looked so sweet in the field. Thanks granny for a fun afternoon :)

golfin around

Golf cart excitement....There's not guidelines for a two year old cruisin the course (they probably frown on it..).... She loved it.

Off to Granny's

Carrying her backpack around for a day and half Ms Lola was very excited to be going to Kentucky to see her family. She packed and repacked her bag. Then (Luckily for mom) she slept most of the flight.

Making some necklaces

Life around the little white table.... we have so much fun around Lola's little white. We play playdough, pretend kitchen, do coloring, and make beaded necklaces. It's the most popular place in the place.
