kitty needs a blanket

Thinking that the kitty was having a chill, Lola covered him up with a doll blanket. She's been a big girl about having the cat move in with Grammy next week. We've told her that he's going to be playing with Foxy and Aunt Nichie and Grammy. She's a bright cookie.

Carousel

Carousel Carousel-What could be more fun
One more time, Always again when it's done
I'll take the zebra you ride a pink toad
A magical going nowhere circle of a road
High, down, High, low, High, under
Music plays loud, laughs of thunder
Could we have one at our place
Smile so big across her face

Donuts!

For a special treat, Grandpa hooked the Doll up with a few sprinkly donuts for breakfast. She thought there was nothing better.. When we came home from our trip she asked if there were any donuts at our store... I told her I'm not sure, they might only have them at Grandpa's. :)

Watching the Bobber...

Grandpa gave Lola a new fishing pole, actually her first fishing pole for her birthday. She was very excited to try it out so the last night we packed up a picnic dinner and headed over to the lake to try it out. We didn't catch any fish, but we did enjoy watching the bobber and reeling in the line a few dozen times... Then we watched an Oklahoma sunset.

Where is everybody?

Our trip to Oklahoma was to attend Grandpa Randall's family reunion. However, it was not mentioned that the location had been changed from the last time mommy went two years ago.... sooo the Doll and I were driving all over town and calling all the relatives, which weren't home because they were, well, you get the idea..... So we ended up visiting with Grammy's side of the family seeing Great Great Granny, Grandpa Carter's garden and the new baby Jacen.... We played at the park and went to the pool at Kingfisher where the Doll loved the water slide. So in the end it was a fun day for her, I think Lola will think it's funny later.

What ya wanna do today?... More hiking?!

Since the Doll had so much fun hiking the day before, she thought it would be fun to do it again.. So we packed another picnic lunch and headed to RedRocks to have some more fun in the sun. We didn't have as exciting a lunch though. We came across a hiking trail called the California trail..( I just laughed that we came all the way to Oklahoma to hike on a trail called that...) It was pretty hot again so thankfully there was a giant cement pond we could cool off in.... Did I mention that Lola learned what slushies are too while we were visiting Grandpa.. She must have had 3 a day to help cool off. So we had a slushie to at the pool. Fun Fun Fun.

Hot and Windy @ Mt Scott in Oklahoma

Picnicking with a raccoon was a new experience when we visited with Grandpa Randall in Oklahoma. It was a classic Oklahoma summer day, very hot (110) and very windy. We were very thankful for the wind because it helped the temperature not feel so scorching. The poor little raccoon must not have eaten in a while because the little guy came running out of the woods and basically sat at our table while we fed it blueberry muffins and dorritos and plums. Lola loved watching it eat. After the raccoon had it's belly full, it scurried up the tree and took a nap- keeping one eye out to see if we were dropping anything for later. When we finished having our raccoon picnic we hiked on top of Mt Scott. Lola enjoyed it, my poor city girl, so much she needs to learn.... like don't stick your hand under that rock there could be spiders or snakes.... It was cute. Then we drove around looking for some buffalo.. We finally saw some on our way out. Papa even picked up a little stuffed river otter for the Doll at the gift shop. Thanks for a fun day.

Fourth of July at HMB

Fireworks at the beach- it's just cool. We actually sat in the same spot as last year. Last year we were wishing the boys were here to watch with us and this year they were it was great! Luckily it wasn't as chilly as it was last year.

Coyote point with Bubba's

Wanna see a vulture? - Lola was very eager to show them what rescued animals were at the museum and of course the honey bee hive exhibit. We had a picnic outside and watched the planes landing at sfo.
