What a beautiful day for a hike. We had heard about the tree house in Mt Airy and had never been to see it. It was really cute and afterwards we hiked the trail below it. There were some sweet little wild flowers.

We are learning about water conservation and today the girls had to draw what they use water for in their house and lives. It was pretty cool to see what they drew.

For our Physical Education we take a trip over to the driving range every once in a while. Lola's clubs she received for her birthday still need some breaking in :)

Apple Picking with Friends

We had a nice field trip to Evan's Orchard for our fall apple picking. It sure smelled so good. Afterwards the girls played on the huge hay castle and jumped on the air pillow and played in the corn pit. Great place to visit and learn about the apple mill.

Learning about letter boxing

 We have recently learned about this cool hobby people participate in where you find hidden stamps and collect the different images from around the country. It really has been fun. We picked up an easy how to carve your own stamp book from amazon and now have made a couple. (remember to reverse words:)There are all kinds of different types of rubber to choose to carve. Some people make a theme of hand carved stamps like disney ones or fairy ones or nature ones so it's quite the adventure to collect ones from certain artists. Check out your local area for some hidden....Things to take with you. 1) note pad to stamp the design 2) ink 3) wet wipes 4) your own stamp if you made one to stamp into the book left by the artist 5)pen 6)a sense of adventure:) some websites to get you started are atlas quest and letterboxing North America

Spanish Project

In Lola's Spanish class we take time to learn a little about Central America, we decided to make the Aztec Calendar and learn about their culture.

We like doing science projects. One we read about was to cover a leaf and see if it still will make chlorophyll..... Lets see how it turns out....

Clover Buds 4H

We had our first meeting with the clover buds 4H. The kids made homemade ice cream in a can.

Boone County Arboretum

Our Arboretum has free guided tours. We met up with some friends to hear some of the local flowers. It was a great way to learn something new.
