New Doggie

We found this stuffed dog that looks like our old dog. Lola has been taking it everywhere. She goes back and forth calling it Tator or Abby after the dog Grandpa has. We visited the river otter and bobcats. Then Lola had fun playing with some magnet toys.

Happy Birthday Dada

A Giant Cupcake Cake was fun to make for Daddy on his birthday. Lola liked adding the chocolate sprinkles and poking all the candles in the top.

loves her little critters

Aunt GiGi and Uncle Brian gave Lola a bunch of little critters for Christmas. She loves playing with them in her doll house.

President's day

Love of Ocean life..... We really do love going to see the mysterious creatures of the ocean from the tiny tiny sea horses to the great grey whale. Daddy took half a day off and we headed down the coast to visit the aquarium.

Valentine's Day Cake

We love watching throwdown with Bobby Flay. Once he made this german chocolate cake that we've been wanting to make ourselves. So we collected the ingredients and then read the whole recipe... It turns out the cake takes 3 hours to make... And it did! We were up until 11 oclock Saturday making it. So after church on Valentines we watched the Daytona 500. We cooked dinner then had some of the CAKE! It was sooo good. We also made Lola some really cute Valentines layered Cookies.

Valentine's Day Party

Mommy went to help at school on Valentine's day party. It was fun watching her make a necklace of fruit loops. She had never had them before so when she saw everyone else eating them, she thought she would try them too. -Interesting piece of info... she likes sugary cereal... She painted her hand print that she made for daddy and had a fruit parfait for snack.

Getting the hang of it

We've been trying to get out and ride her bike everyday. It's amazing how much better she is doing in just a week or two. We take her shovel and pail and stuff her 'purse' with a little critter and head to the park. The tassels are a distracting piece to have but she's starting to get use to them too.

Baby Emma

Here she is holding our friends new baby Emma. She is a cutie. Lola asked if she could be her sister. It was soo cute. She read her a story and checked out her toys. Baby Emma kept trying to look where Lola's voice was coming from when she was walking around her room.

Chinese New Year @ Library

We like to try to show the Doll about different cultural celebrations and at our library they had a special story time and crafts to share about Chinese New Year. Lola liked the stories, but really liked decorating the dragon puppet with Daddy.

Checking herself out

The mirror at dance is a distraction sometimes to the Doll. She will get caught up checking herself out and forget to dance. They were doing a toe heel step across the floor here.

Whale Watching

Magical!

Ever since we moved to the Bay Area we've been wanting to go on a whale watching tour. So we finally pencilled one in while Eric was visiting. The grey whales are migrating to Mexico to have their babies so this is the time to go see them. Inside the harbor we saw a lot of marine life; sea otters, seals, and some jellies. We were lucky enough to see a pod of Risso Dolphins that feed on the squid that live in the Monterrey Bay. The captain estimated there were 5-7 hundred in the group. We even saw some baby ones. It was so exciting. We had to go out of the bay just a smidge to see the whales that were migrating. We saw about 8-10 different spouts and two really good tail flukes. Lola loved the boat ride. There's a great picture of how high the waves were crashing on the shore from the wind that was blowing.

Eric comes for a visit

We headed down to Monterrey when Eric came for a quick weekend. Pelicans were a highlight at the old Fisherman's wharf as well as the crazy old pirate man who basically threw a parrot on our daughter.

Sunshine while everyone else has snow

It's hard to enjoy our sunshine sometimes when everyone else we know is covered in snow. However, we had a great visit at the zoo. We spent a lot of time watching the honey pot ants and checking out the different frogs. And of course we enjoyed the carnival rides afterwards.

Princess Lola

Notice how my girl is wearing her dancing ribbons as a crown while all the other girls are dancing with theirs. She sure has a mind of her. :)
