Hawaiian Birthday

One of Lola's girlfriends had a 4th birthday celebration. Lola enjoyed wacking on the pinata.

last day of music school

What are we going to do for tuesday mornings now that music is over. Lola loved the scarf dancing even though she mostly just danced with it on her head.

Eric had a great art history class this past semester that led him wonder if there were anything of interest to him at the local art scene out here. Well, there just happened to be..imagine that. So we headed downtown to see a Rothko and learn about this artist who left a huge impression on Lola, William Kentridge. She loved his ant film on exhibit. Here they are on the roof of the MOMA.

Music School

Scorching sun only makes for empty tennis courts in our neck of the woods. The boys had fun playing a little tennis on Sunday.

Since we were unprepared for the water park last week, we made sure to have her swim suit this time. She's strutting her stuff here

Bubba Eric comes after semester is over

Staying up until 11pm was not in the cards for Lola even though she tried her hardest to be awake when Bubba arrived. She did wake up eager to pick on him in the morning. She made him read stories and do puzzles and play games.

Water parks are such a cool invention. Lola ran around the fountains with her dress on and shortly after was running her hippie little tail around in her princess undies:) 

Week 4 of Dance

Mommies were allowed to watch the last 5 minutes of class while the girls showed off a couple of the dances they have been working on. It was sooo cute.

Elephant poop and monkey booties. That was the highlight of this weeks trip to the zoo. We also watched a giraffe sit down, which if you haven't seen them do that, you should definitely utube it.

Elephant poop and monkey booties- those were some highlights from this week's trip to the zoo. Man, there were so many kids there for end of year field trip.  We sure enjoyed the sunshine and an ice cream treat at the end.

Soccer week 6

This week we played 'at the beach' during soccer. The kids were learning about in bounds and out of bounds. So the beach was in bounds and the ocean was out. It was fun for the mom's because it was the first time she had the moms/grandpas/nanny's who don't pay attention to sit out and watch. She did really great.

my Girls

So I'm not sure how we have come to be in this routine, but every morning she likes to take out all her Girls. She sets them up by the window and has a little chats with them. I've started encouraging her to give them tea parties. She has to pick four and set up four cups and saucers.  So then at the end of the day she puts them all back in their bucket. 

Big Girl Bed

Since our Doll is too big for her crib now we headed to Ikea to fix that problem.. What is Ikea, you may be wondering... Well, it's a really cool store from sweden that solves all your housing needs.... So we picked out the one we wanted online before heading to the store to let Lola "pick it out." It matches her dresser we had from before and it has these huge drawers that will help with storing her toys. Plus,, it folds out into a full bed incase we need it.

Swim suit Barbie Doll

our Doll on her way to the pool. We are loving this California weather. We anxiously wait for Daddy to get home in the afternoons so we can go to the pool.

week 3 of Dance

Swimming with girlfriends.

come on girls! Lola was so excited to take her girlfriends to the pool. She liked showing them her tricks... She jumped in and swam and let mom toss her like an airplane through the air. It was hard to get her to come out of the water.

Soccer week 5

Zoo animals was our game this week. They practiced jumping in front of mommy to scare us like a lion to learn defense.... Coach even set up an obstacle course for them to kick the ball through. And a tunnel to climb in... Lola did great.

making bruschetta

Lola has an apron of her own, but she wanted to wear her momma's to help make an appetizer. We love making fresh bruschetta. She did a great job spooning it onto the toast.

My little cowgirl

Cowgirl boots are a sweet accessory to have to wear.. Lola picks them at least once a week. She wore this dress I made to music this week. She even let me braid her hair.

Jelly

I took this picture to remind myself of the first time Lola questioned Daddy's authority.... Sometimes Lola will be hungry before she goes to bed especially if' it's a late night, so I'll let her have some toast. When Daddy went to make it I was in another room and asked him to give her the choice of peanut butter or butter but nooo jelly, ya know since it was 930 at night. Well, she heard her choice and asked well, can I have Jelly?   He told her no, Momma said peanut butter or butter but NOOO Jelly. As a curious little girl, she came running around the corner and asked me "Mom, did you really say no Jelly." I said, yeah no jelly it's too late for sugar. So she went back in the kitchen to let dad know that I had indeed said no and there was a reason..... It was so funny at the time. Then the next morning she happily took jelly on her toast.

Snail family

One day as were walking with the stroller. We came across a piece of sidewalk that was covered in snails. So for the fun of it and to move the snails so they wouldn't get sqaushed, we moved them over in a group and made up a story. First there were the mom and dad and a wee little baby one. and then came the grandma and grandpa ones. Lola thought it was so funny. The snails on the other hand ... not so much.

Week 2 of Dance

Wearing a tutu is sooo fun. Mommy wishes she could wear a tutu too. Lola is really enjoying her dance. All the girls seem to be doing great too, considering they all make it the whole 30 minutes.
